Explore Portico by Lennar Homes (New Real Estate Development in Fort Myers) Here's a little quick history lesson on the gated community of Portico Fort Myers. When we purchased our investment property in Fort Myers from Lennar homes, I noticed the maturity of the trees and landscaping, but nothing added up given the original move in dates of the home (2017).

I found out from one of the original home owner that the site went through multiple owners. It started out in 2005 prior to the housing crises as California themed properties by Taylor Morrison - an upscale builder in Southwest Florida. TM Homes established the area and built a few homes in the California theme, but then the housing crisis came along. The site wasn’t feasible to complete and was sold off to WCI Homes which later was bought out by Lennar Homes who is now completing the neighbourhood.
